3....2....Porter's (almost) 1!!!

Lots of changes have happened this week that you all need to know about. First of all, I went to my very first vacation bible school last week at First Baptist Queen City. Most kids don't get to go until they are beginning kindergarten, but Daddy was working at VBS on the rec field, so I got to tag-along and play in the nursery everyday. It was simply a blast. There are several pictures of the week here:

Those two are of me and my friend, Case, playing in the nursery. We had a lot of fun! And now, here's one of Daddy. It looks like he's hitting someone in the head, but I'm not really sure. Just sayin', Dad.

Another new development in my life-- I can say Momma. I know, I know... it took me a while, but to be completely truthful, I just wanted to wait until I had it down perfectly.  I've asked Mom to get it on video for you, but until that's possible, you'll just have to trust me. Sometimes it comes out more of "Ah-ma" but she still knows what I'm trying to say. I can't quite figure it out though. Everytime I say her name, she just smiles and looks all silly, like I've just told her that she's been elected as Queen of the World. Who knows... crazy lady. So, since I don't have a video, I thought I'd show you one of the earliest photos of me and my mom:

Okay, so no judging me on the way I look here... because I had just gone through a very traumatic time in my life. I had spent nine warm and cozy months in my own little world and then all of a sudden... BAM! BORN. So yeah, bad picture day, to say the least.

Anyway, ironically enough, that photo was taken almost a year ago! Can you believe it?! In two months, I will be one year old! Mommy is already preparing for my party. In fact, she sent out save-the-date cards recently. They are pretty cool, if I can say so myself. Mom actually drew the astronaut and rocket-ship, because she's nifty like that. Here's a peak:

Oh yea, and I'm on there, too... just in case you forgot how handsome and good-looking I am. Mom says there is a lot more to do in order to get ready for my party, but if you ask me, all she's gotta do is make the cake and I'm a happy camper... er, happy space cadet. ;)

Operation Vacation: Completed

Last week was full of fun and family time. We went on vacation. Actually, we ended up going to Dallas to visit family-friends, but it was a nice get-a-way. Mom and Dad were going to take me to the beach, but since the oil spill looms and I'm not a fan of lengthy car rides just yet, they decided to stay close to home. Therefore, this was the closest I got to the beach:

Yea, I know I'm a stud. Don't mention it... Anyways, Mom and Dad took me to stay with the Tollisons, and we had a blasty blast. I got to play with Avery and Lexi and I decided I need one of those older sisters.... hmmmm. Mom, can you work on that?

Then we went to the Whatley's and I got to meet Marcus, Marcy and Ethan for the first time ever! These were Daddy's best friend and his family, and we had tons of fun there too! We did a lot of shopping, and more shopping, and then more shopping! Mommy had a great time, but the rest of us were worn out! This is what we think about shopping:

Also, I wanted to show you my improving crawling skills. I am a mobile fool these days!

Baller, I know. I did want to show you a funny picture of when Daddy was trying to load me up for vacation, and I wouldn't fit. I was mildly afraid that I'd get left behind... but luckily they found room for me after all.

And this is silly Jax, who thought he was going to drive us to Dallas.

Silly Jax!!! He was just getting dropped off at Nana and Papa T's house!

Anyway, all in all, it was a great trip. The best part was getting to spend all week with my Mommy AND Daddy. Loved it!

Speaking of things I love, did you notice my new blog header? My good friend Dani built it for me, and I want to give her a big shout out! She's got wonderful style. You can check out more of her style on her blog. Thank you, Danielle!

By the way, since we're on the subject of things I love, I want to introduce the very first edition of "Drool It".  Drool It will be a collection of baby products (toddler products, kid products, mommy products) that I can't live with out. Hopefully this will help other babies and mommies forgo the suffering that Mommy and I went through until I found each one of these things. Enjoy!

First and foremost, you should all know that I do not have any teeth yet. Therefore, teething is still an issue in our world.... and these teething tablets help us get through it.

Next, a man has to have a good selection of ties. Children's place has the best selection. A boy's gotta be g'ed out:

Last but not least, a true player has to have fly shoes. Here are mine, also from Children's place:

I know, I'm probably the coolest kid around. Don't be jealous.

That's it for now. Have a great weekend, everybody!

Almost Vacation Time!

Eek! I'm almost as bad at updating my blog as my Mommy. imagine that.

Regardless, next week we are going on vacation. That's why I've gotta update you on the past few weeks of my life. Plenty of new pictures to post. Aren't you glad?

About three weeks ago Mommy and I spent the whole day at Nana P's house, hanging out with her and Luke while Uncle Keith was at work. We had a blast! Here's me fighting with Luke because he wouldn't let me play x-box. (No really, we were fighting... I play nice. This picture just caught me in a moment of rage.)
On a happier note, here's me being a sweet boy and looking my best while playing in the cool transformer tent at Nana's:

This was a good picture day, so I'll add a few more for good measure. This one is my GQ look:

And then there's this one, with my beautiful NaNa:

I think you can tell where I get my good looks! Anyways, life has been good lately. I have perfected my crawling skills and have now moved on to pulling up and standing. I'm not ready to let go and stand on my own yet, but you know, I figure it's best to take things slow. I'll stand alone when I'm good and ready! Until then, I've really been enjoying life. This whole summer thing is WAY more fun on the outside. Here's me playing in the floor:

Not real sure who the old guy is on the television, but I know who this lady is:

Love that Mommy! So, I'm getting into this really curious mode lately. During the month of July my cousin Luke gets to come over in the afternoons while his Daddy goes to work and play with me and my daddy. It's been a lot of fun so far, and I really like to watch him because he's big and can teach me all sorts of things. The other day, I even figured out how to take a bath on my own:

Usually, I would get in trouble for playing with the dog's bowl. But how can Mommy and Daddy be upset with a face like this?!

Plus, I only made a little mess. No big deal, right Mom?

I think that's why the dog's bowl isn't inside anymore. Oh well, I guess Mommy and Daddy want to still be a part of the bath time process. That's fine. I'll find other ways to be independent.

Until next time folks, stay classy. I'll update you on our adventures of vacation next time. I hear we're going to some amusement park called IKEA. I'm pretty excited, but not quite as pumped as Mommy.
