And finally....

Almost a month later, I'm ready to tell you all about my birthday party. As I said in my last post, I wasn't the happiest camper most of the day. It turned out that I had an ear and throat infection, but Mom and Dad didn't know that until they took me to the doctor on Monday morning. So, even though I wasn't feeling up to par, the party went on. Man, I can't wait til I can talk and tell them what's wrong!

As most of you know, Mom decided that I didn't need anything for my birthday. She said something abotu me having waaaay too much stuff, and you know, the more I think about it, the more I agree. I can barely remember what all toys I have to play with these days. So, she asked all the party guests to bring food for kids who aren't as blessed as me. It's really hard to think that some children go to bed hungry, or without clothes and diapers, when I have so many things.

The food drive went great! We got so many items donated and we're taking them to Faith, Hope and Love soon to give to the children that attend the afterschool program there. I can't wait to help others out in the same way. I'm already starting to think about what we can do for Christmas!

The party itself was awesome. My Mom and Dad did a pretty good job of decorating and getting stuff together:

but my friend Chrissy did an AMAZING job on the birthday cake that everyone else ate. I'm really not sure why I didn't get to eat some of that cake, but Mom said it was because I had my VERY own and it was a special birthday cake for the special birthday boy. Here's the one Chrissy made:

Doesn't it look yummy? She did a great job! And Mom made the one for me.... here it is:

and don't forget, here's the silly hat that mom made me wear:

and this is what I thought about it....

Obviously, I wasn't really that into it... but here were a few things that I did enjoy:
playing with NaNa and these fun balls
Getting really messy

eating my sweet peas

and sleeping the day away in my Mama's lap

As you can see, I had a day filled with mixed emotions... from unsure to exhaustion. However, everyone else seemed to have a good time.

Now, what most people don't know, is that on Friday, the actual day of my birthday, we had a family gathering for pizza and cake at our house. Nana T and Papa T, Danny, Nana P, Uncle William, Miss Ashalee and Luke came over. Again, I was not feeling well and to top it all off, I was sleepy. Here are a few photos of my actual birthday:
NaNa P left Mom a rose because it was birth-giving day for her!

The day started off okay, with Mom snapping a photo first thing.

After Mom got home, I got to put on my Birthday boy shirt! It says "1" because that's how many I am now!

NaNa P is the only one who could make me happy.

Luke came over and we wrestled. I won!

Then it was time for cake, and I was not real happy about it... to make things worse, when Mom put the hat on me, I popped myself with the rubber band that holds it on. IT HURT! Here's the reaction that my Uncle William so skillfully caught, right after the incident.

Even though it wasn't fun, it's pretty funny to see that Mommy might have been more upset than I was... not sure who was more hurt.

Here's Mommy dancing to make me feel better:
and this is how well it worked:

So, even though you can't tell, I had a pretty good birthday all in all. These days, things are getting back to normal. I went to the doctor, got some antibiotics, and I'm feeling much better. We changed babysitters last week. I'm drinking from a cup now and learning to feed myself. Life is marching on!

Next update: the pumpkin patch!!! Catch ya'll soon!

Dusting the old Blogger off..

Friends, I'm sorry that I haven't written in so long. To be honest, it's been a tough few weeks for this little boy. My birthday came and went, and I was sick. Sick, sick, sick.

The party was a lot of fun. There were so many people there, and Mom made cool decorations and of course, my favorite part was playing with all the other kids. In fact, just to show you how much I enjoyed it, here is a photo of me playing sweetly with my friends:

I will tell you more about it soon. But for now, I've got more fun things to do! Busy weekend for me and mom. We're going to the pumpkin patch and garage sale with Nana and Uncle William and Miss Ash-a-lee tomorrow. WhooooHooo!

Porter in the Park

Last week was a whirlwind of fun stuff... primarily, having my photo taken at Spring Lake Park to celebrate my birthday. My favorite Aunt Cristi took the photos, and I have a few to share. Enjoy!

This is Mommy's favorite shot. Personally, I think I looked pretty cute in the sailor suit, but it wasn't my first choice.

Here's my GQ look. I think I will win ALL The ladies with this one.

These balloons were really cool. I hope we have so many more for my birthday party!!

This is just cool... I don't care who you are!

And Mommy really likes this one, because I look like a little baby doll she says. Not sure how I feel about that.
Woooooo PIG SOOIE!

Hey, I'm Porter, and I'm about to charm my way into your heart.

I love this trick with Daddy! He's my fav.

Check out the lashes!

Uh, a boy's gotta eat!!!

I was NOT HAPPY!

Hey ya'll, I'm one!

This is our family, in a nut shell. I'm happy to be a part of it. =)

Announcement!

Tommorrow is a big day in the life of Porter. 1st: I'm getting my hair cut. Now, personally, I don't like the idea of those sharp pointy things coming near my face, much less my ears and eyes, but as long as Daddy is there with me, I think it will be okay. Plus, Mom says that I look scraggly, and honestly I don't know that word yet, but when she says it she wrinkles her nose like she does when changing a dirty diaper, so I know that it can't be a good thing.

So, with that being said... tomorrow I will go from looking like this:

To this:

HaHa... just kidding. I think Mom is going to let me keep my long hair and probably just trim around the ears and get it out of my eyes. I kinda like the shaggy look!

So, also on the agenda for tomorrow is a photo shoot for my first birthday. Mom says it will be a lot of fun, but I'm not really sure. I do get to see my favorite friends, Cristi and Harper, so that will be exciting! Cristi is REALLY amazing with a camera... and somehow Mom talked her into taking my picture. I'll be sure to share them with you when we're finished.

Speaking of first birthday, I'm getting really excited about it all. I know it may not seem that way, but the more I think about all my friends coming over to celebrate my birthday, the more excited I get. Can't wait to see everyone!

Oh by the way, as promised, a photo of my teeth! Please ignore the nose crusties in the second pic:

Do I look fat? Daddy said something about Chris Farley... whatever, Dad. But seriously, do you see those things?! Aren't they cool? Apparently, I get to do all sorts of cool things once the rest of them start popping up.... like eat real food!

Here you can barely see the bottom chomper. Maybe I have a better photo:

There it is! And just for fun, here's one of Daddy forcing my mouth open. Yea, he better be glad I was in a good mood...

That's all for now folks. But as I leave you, here's me helping Dad with the dishes. We make a good team!
